The leadership of the children’s ministry hosted their first ever in-house volunteers training with over 40 children-centered volunteers last Saturday at the Pretoria Showgrounds.
Volunteers from as far as Botswana and Lesotho most from various branches in and around Gauteng and neighbouring provinces came for the training.
The program was led by the Ministry head, Mrs Patricia Ledwaba with Apostle Misheck, the International Director of the Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) church who captivated the attendants as he encouraged them.
He motivated them by telling them that their father, Major1 was passionate about the ministry and expressed how Major 1 and other church big wigs wanted to grace the event but with regret were unable to because of the packed weekend programs that demanded their presence.
In his short speech, standing on behalf of Major1, he said, “The future is contributed in the vision of our father through our kids”.
The apostle and the ministry head both touched on the need for standardised Operarions and developing a curriculum for all branches.
Mam Ledwaba empasised the seriousness of structure, standardization and a uniform curriculum: “I will be visiting countries and branches to ensure effective implementation through practical training,” She said.
The training was a great success with covered topics such as:
1. Security and safety guidelines
2. Curriculum layout and vision
3. Understanding your calling
4. Recruitment policies
5. Code of conduct
7. Disciplinary Measures
Matselane Lebakeng from Lesotho was impressed by the training, she remarked, “It was enlightening and informative. I recommend Sunday School to every child who attends ECG.” Gezani Maluleke who also attended, saw it as a future investment.
Mam Ledwaba thanked everyone for attending and and especially thanked the teachers for their immense support and making sure to remind everyone of the support of the Prophetess, the Evengelist and other seniors whose footprints of support have been imprinted in every step forward of the ministry namef, “The Prophetic kids” by Major1.
